20 WordPress Influencers’ Twitter Accounts to Follow

March 30, 2020 2 Comments

FacebookTweetLinkedIn

Everyone blames themselves for spending too much time on social media. New Year’s resolutions, apps to monitor smartphone activity, and turning off smartphones are just a few solutions to limit the time wasted. Sadly, these solutions only work for a few people.

We need to shift our mentalities. Instead of wasting time on social media, why not use that time fruitfully? It’s easier said than done, but it’s not impossible! For instance, you can use Twitter to stay updated on what’s new in the WordPress community, engage with fellows, and learn new things.

We strongly recommend checking out your Twitter followers and the accounts you’re following. Some of the accounts you’re following may only tweet useless updates, and you should stop following them.

Instead, follow these Twitter accounts that consistently share useful messages. You’ll get plenty of value by following these WordPress influencers.

WordPress

Follow this account to stay permanently updated on the latest WordPress versions, meet “People of WordPress” (the devs who contribute to improving WordPress), and read monthly news about WordPress. All WordPress enthusiasts should follow this account.

Syed Balkhi

No WordPress user hasn’t visited WPBeginner at least once. WPBeginner is a cool resource that will teach you everything about WordPress. Syed Balkhi is the genius behind this site, and he is behind OptionMonster, WPForms, and MonsterInsights, too. How could someone achieve so much in such little time? Check out his Twitter account to learn more about Syed. He shares inspirational quotes and many useful WordPress resources.

Chris Lema

If you participated in a WordCamp (in person or virtually), chances are that you noticed Chris Lema. He is a charismatic WordPress expert focused on WooCommerce. Follow him to learn cool tips about e-commerce and other WordPress-related stuff.

Adam W. Warner

Adam covers a large array of resources in his tweets, from general news about WordCamps and other WordPress meetups to geeky things like the SpaceX rocket launch. He often retweets and engages with other Twitter accounts, and it looks like he is always interested in useful chats.

Peter Nilsson

Peter runs WPNewsify and WPPluginsify, two cool blogs for WordPress users. He constantly shares captivating and actionable blog posts related to WordPress and internet marketing. Peter is featured in many interviews, and his insights are appreciated, so keep an eye on his Twitter account.

Nile Flores

Nile impresses with her experience—she has spoken at 40+ conferences, has worked for Yoast and WP Fix It, runs a personal blog (Blondish.net), and has contributed to the GoDaddy blog. She tweets a lot of cool articles about WordPress, social media, and online marketing.

Bob WP

Be prepared to have consistent contributions from Bob WP on your timeline if you follow him. He tweets about WordPress and WooCommerce. You can also listen to his effective podcast, Do the Woo.

Joost de Valk

Joost is the founder of the Yoast plugin and an active voice in the WordPress community. His Twitter activity is a mixture of WordPress news (especially about WordCamps), future WordPress updates, and a few details about his personal life. It’s nice to find out how other people deal with day-to-day problems. By the way, he is the father of four kids.

Ionut Neagu

Ionut Neagu is involved in a few highly successful WordPress projects, such as CodeInWP and Theme Isle. Check out his tweets to find the most interesting news in the industry, useful tutorials, and the challenges of running a WordPress business.

Joe Howard

WP Buffs is one of the most famous WordPress maintenance agencies, and Joe Howard is the Head Buff (a.k.a., the boss). He not only tweets about his agency but also shares a lot of valuable resources. Joe is involved in podcasting, and he constantly shares the latest episodes on Twitter.

Karol K

Karol is a prolific WordPress content creator. I wonder every day how he can write so many quality articles. He has written blog posts for a bunch of highly visited blogs, and he runs another one. Follow him to stay updated with his latest articles.

Jean Galea

You’ve probably visited WP Mayor in the past. It’s a famous blog in the WordPress community. Jean Galea is its founder, and he tweets about WordPress, entrepreneurship, real estate, and cryptocurrency. Jean won’t fill your timeline with a massive contribution, but he shares top-class content only.

Shawn Hesketh

Shawn is the great mind behind WP101, an effective resource for WordPress beginners. He retweets a lot of interesting articles and tweets about WordPress, events in the industry, and personal activities.

Florin Pop

Florin isn’t entirely focused on WordPress, but I can’t help adding him to this list. He is a living example of what it means to be consistent in everything you do. For instance, he grew his YouTube channel and Twitter account by constantly pushing out great content. Follow him to get useful resources for learning to code, personal development, and how to develop a Twitter and YouTube presence.

Ronald Heynes

Prepare yourself for a solid Twitter contribution if you follow Ronald. He shares tens of tweets a day, but all of them bring serious value. Additionally, he retweets massively—of course, almost all of it is WordPress related.

David Wells

David Wells’s Twitter activity consists of everything from technical aspects such as cloud hosting and deploying sites to day-to-day activities such as cooking bacon or how long it takes to schedule a 15-minute call.

David Bisset

This is another Twitter account I highly appreciate. David Bisset reveals many of his professional struggles, and I have learned a lot from him about how to manage remote work. He shares a lot of useful resources for WordPress users and news about WordPress meetups.

Jared Atchison

Jared Atchison is the co-founder of WP Easy Forms, and he tweets about marketing, WordPress, entrepreneurship, and technology. A standout aspect of Jared is his humor. He shares a lot of funny stuff.

Brad Williams

Follow Brad to make sure that your Twitter timeline is full of useful tweets. He shares cool inspirational quotes, resources for WordPress lovers and developers, and personal stuff. Check out his retweets, too. He is involved in a few important WordPress projects, so he knows a thing or two about the platform.

Ahsan Parwez

Ahsan isn’t followed by a lot of people, but his tweets are pretty interesting and useful. He works as a digital marketer at Cloudways, and his tweets are related to not only this company but also cloud hosting, WordPress, and entrepreneurship.

Over to You

Let’s be honest—you aren’t motivated enough to quit social media! It has become part of our lives, and while with a few advantages, it comes also has many disadvantages. We should do everything we can to maximize the advantages. Following the above Twitter accounts is the first step toward getting more from our social media usage.
